Each person is without excuse because God has put a knowledge of himself into our hearts and embedded it in to creation itself.

For most of us who follow Jesus, there is a point in time that we can look back on and refer to as our salvation experiences. Thousands of narratives can be used to tell how we personally came to know him. Although each of our accounts of salvation are different, there is one thing that stays the same: Each of us has been transformed by the power of the gospel message.

This personal transformation occurs in what seems like an instant. But if truth be told, it was a progression of God leading us to that moment. As we walk with the Lord and study his Word, we realize just how meticulous he is in bringing people to a knowledge of himself.I don’t know if it is because he is not captured by time or if he is that confident in his own authority. Whatever the reason, God leads you and I down the path and sets us up to have an encounter with him. In this first lesson, I break down how we come to that redeeming knowledge. It will help you in recognizing when God is dealing with someone. The first thing we must come to understand is that all humanity is born into sin. And that is a problem.

“Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned. (Romans 5:12 ESV)

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23 ESV)

Because of this condition of our hearts, a separation occurred between us and our Creator long before we were born. Just as you did not pick your skin, eye or hair colors, you did not get the choice of being born into sin.
